Pelvic health Physiotherapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy that focuses on supporting women of all ages with problems particularly related to their pelvic floor, pelvis, abdominal area. I treat women of all ages from menstruation to menopause, and see a wide range of conditions with the emphasis on supporting women to better understand their bodies.

I am passionate about ensuring yours needs are met and empowering individuals to manage their pelvic health.

Postnatal check

The postnatal period can be a challenging time as you learn to adjust to your new life, new baby and new body which can be overwhelming.

A postnatal assessment can help support you in a wide variety of postnatal areas including bladder, bowel and vaginal function, review of scars from birth, pelvic floor assessment and providing guidance on your recovery going forward.

This can cover:

  • Prolapse

  • Pelvic pain

  • Pain with intercourse

  • Return to exercise support

  • diastasis (tummy gap)

Bladder and Bowel

An assessment all about bladder and bowel health if you are suffering with:

  • Urgency/frequency of the bladder &/or bowel

  • Constipation

  • Incontinence of the bladder &/or bowel

Prolapse

Prolapse is when one or more of the pelvic organs move out of their position and bulge in to the vagina. Symptoms can include a lump or a bulge in the vagina, discomfort, and bladder and bowel symptoms.

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy assessment and treatment can offer improvements and often resolution of your symptoms.

Peri/post menopause

Transitioning through peri or post menopause is a period of significant change which can bring about a number of physical and emotional symptoms as a result of hormonal change.

This assessment involves discussing all the changes that can occur during the menopause. I can provide support with:

  • Vaginal dryness

  • Painful sex

  • Bladder and bowel symptoms

  • Prolapse

  • Pre/post gynaecological surgery

Pelvic Pain

I help women who suffer from pelvic pain. Conditions include:
